Hendzel
Furniture designers have always been fascinated by the humble chair. Many have written their names into the history of furniture design by their own iconic interpretation – from the Eames Lounge Chair, Egg Chair by Arne Jacobsen, Philippe Starck’s Ghost Chair, or Le Corbusier’s metal and leather chairs – the chair often becomes the defining work of a furniture designer.
So, when we looked to reinterpret the brand identity for Yan Hendzel and the bespoke furniture he creates for his customers, we developed a simple chair icon forming a visual ‘h’ for Hendzel.
The colour was chosen to blend into the natural hues of wood – the material of choice for Hendzel, whilst retaining enough strength and uniqueness to be a strong identifier itself.
The typeface is also highly distinctive and was chosen to reflect the lines and style of Hendzel furniture.
Shown here are the logo – and the usual variations we create to cover social media and different layout options, stationery, window decal and coffee table book design.
